Good dealership report

The electronic 3 point hitch got out of wack on my Case cx.100.
I called service dept at my dealer and service guy spent much time on phone with me and text me couple pictures to make sure we are on the same page.

He then said there has been an update on the potentiometer for that tractor but let me put a tech on phone who is familiar.

Tech walked me through a couple stops and determined the potentiometer got out of its limits somehow. Since I'm only 2 miles from him can I drive it in?

Yep, when can you fit me in? 7.30 tomorrow morning.

HOPEFULLY you'll still be smiling once you get the bill!

Proximity is great! Lets hope it works out.
I worked at a dealership '72-'84 here in central NY. I remember how the long distance calls drove the boss nuts. They could waste a lot of your time if you let them. This summer I found myself on two, separate all day drives into PA to fetch parts, which for various reasons weren't going to be available here right away. Once to Messicks in Mount Joy where I put about $1000 on a credit card, and once to Hoobers in Mifflintown where I spent about $300 cash. I likewise have two good reports! Both times treated very well.

There are some dealer that are very good and a lot of not so good dealers. There are also some of the parts men at all dealers that can be very good and some that are not very good at parts also. Like on our combine.IT has planatary final drives and the hydraulic pumps are different some how. Nobody can tell me the difference but there is and they are listed as different. And the first time we went in to get pumps they sent my brother home with the wrong pumps. The original pump was 2 pumps in one housing ,Now they are separated so you have 2 pumps to deal with one for the hydraulic system and one for other things. And these are not the hydro drive for the wheels either that is another thing. Well I went in and we spent about an hour before they found the right pump information and go oh never had this come up before. So apparently this machine either is a freak or nobody knew the difference and just put on the regular pumps. One place I talked to said there was a pressure difference between the 2 set ups. I don't know.
