I have an Oliver 77 that is still 6v and it just can't get it started in the winter. I am going to 12v convert it in spring when it gets warmer (don't have a heated building) but I still use it in winter. For the rest of winter I plan on just jump starting by grounding and putting it directly to the starter since you can't jump 12v to 6v. Is there any major issues with this? Also is 1500 amps enough or should I get a 3000 amp one? Do you have any recommendations on a certain brand or kind of jump starter I should get? Like I said before this is just to get me through the winter so it's just temporary. Thanks for any ideas!
