I've been to many air shows. Even flew in one. Also, I released a flour on a bombing run in a Champ tail drager dropping a bag of flour out of the plane on a target. All this and never ever seen anyone get hurt.

Prior to security being clamped down, after 9/11, we would go to NAS Whidbey Island every chance we got, for their airshow. The traffic exiting was far more dangerous than the airshow.

There has been a fair number of crashes at air shows of late. Still not many at all but - a few above whatever normal is….

However, quite some time ago they added Some rules that they can’t fly the dangerous maneuvers over the audience any more. If there is a crash it will be over the empty part of the runways or a nearby empty area.

I too would be more concerned about the drive to the show than having an issue at the show.

We attend any around us, the Fagen WWII shows every 2-3 years are just awesome!

We do this one, its pretty awesome, one can sit right next to the runway. Sadly the next one is postponed.
