Got my corn done

Got my corn picked yesterday afternoon and this morning. Only had about 2 and half acres. Picked it with my 1-PR picker and my 43 M. That old
stuff worked flawlessly. I planted 90 day corn so I can get it early and avoid the mud that often goes with later season corn around here.
It was quite dry and rolled easily out of the wagon. Lost about 25% to deer and ears were on the small side due to dry weather last summer.
Despite that it was some beautiful days for picking. It all came together for a fun time.

Just because equip. is old doesn't mean it has to be junk. My equip. is some what newer then yours but not new by any stretch of the imagination. I keep it in excellent repair and am proud to go out in the field with it. I know what you mean with the deer. I have a ravine that comes up from the river and dead ends in my farm. So , lots of deer eating the first 10 rows of crops all the way around that ravine. Probably amounts to 4 acres of zero crop to harvest.

Nothing wrong with old stuff. I have a 1937 Indian motorcycle that goes as fast as I want to go. Stan

How much fertilizer did you apply? I went pretty heavy and have huge ears that weigh on average 17 ozs.

Nothing wrong with a old one row picker. I use one too and just tell everyone I don't want to get it done too fast as then my fun will end too quick. Although it is hooked to a one year old tractor with heat, air, stereo, and blue tooth. I like my old farmall but I like the conveniences of the newer tractors better when work has to get done.
