headlight observation (not really farm)

The law on the books still here is dim before 500 feet head on and 250 feet from behind. Kinda laughable now. I get flashed sometimes in the Prius anywhere from .5 mile to over a mile.
I gave up using my brights for a while because it seemed like no matter how rural and desolate the area was, the moment I hit the high beams, someone would inevitably appear out of nowhere in the oncoming lane.

Then I got sick of being flashed for my low beams. So now the moment the car passes I hit the high beams so the next oncoming car knows that they're as low as they go, because they saw me switch to low beams.
