Heating the oil pan

It is below zero for a day or two. I will slap a Katz magnetic heater onto the oil pan. Can the oil burn or get to hot if left in place?

No the oil conducts the heat away. A week ago we were at a fire where there were three oil delivery trucks side by side on fire. The aluminum tanks melted down to the level of the oil in the tanks.

SO,, dont worry, when it catches fire, it will only burn down to the level of the oil in your engine. Youll be okay.

200 or 400 watts isn't going to burn the oil. That is what those heaters were designed for.
