What ever the magneto you have on the tractor is or what it was installed on when new. If it ran this tractor before it will again, If the problem is the magneto. If you take the time to do what I am going to explain you will know if it will run again with this magneto.
With the spark plugs out of the engine, Put all four spark plugs on the plug the wires with the wires pluged into the magneto. Clamp each plug to a metal strap/bar/flat stock, or what ever you can find that is metal and then clamp it to the engine some where so that you can see the plugs spark while turning the hand crank.
Inching the crank until you see a spark and you know that the engine is on the compression stroke on number one cylinder. Mark that plug and wire number one. At this point I don't care which terminal on the magneto the wire is pluged into. When you are sure you have the center line in the inspection hole when you see spark then inch the crank until you see spark on another plug. Mark that plug wire and plug number two. Then inch inch the crank until you hear the snap and see the spark and mark that plug wire and plug number four. Then inch the crank until you hear the snap and see the spark and mark that plug wire and plug number three. Continue to inch the crank until you hear the snap and see spark to double check that it sparks on the wire and plug you have marked number one and that the center line is in the center of the inspection hole.
If it is not there you will have to make an adjustment to the magneto to get the line there on number one and start over.
The above is what needs to happen to make that engine to run.
If this does happen in the sequence I have detailed the engine will not run.
