Hi Guys
I just recently purchased a 2004 Hesston 956 round baler.
Wondering if anyone owns one/ has in the past and has any information on them.
Not sure if they have any common issues or not, let me know if you have any info on this model or something similar.

Hey, there the toughest baler on the market far as I'm conserned. I'm currently trying to source a drive clutch but it works good just tightened up for now. You gotta keep the drive clutch clean but its tough cause your oiling chains and greasing on the spindle behind it and the cluch is something needs servicing cause of that. I should take it apart at the end of every season and clean it but ya know. They dont bale as fast as a NH or make as nice a looking bale but simple to use and fairly easy to work on. Owned mine for 14 years, bale 750 bales a year avg. Once you get to know it its fairly reliable, Its better on bearings than the others, theres rubber flaps on a helper roll above the pick up, those need to replaced if there smooth or it doesnt feed good and will plug the pick up. If the monitor ever tells you hot oil you must check your forming cylinders or valves for a broken clyinder or by passing valve heating up the oil. I've had a couple forming cylinders break where they fasten to the roller. but I have it cranked for pressure that could be turned down if you dont need to make real packed bales. The moniter has been fixed once on mine and if you do have monitor problems check the wire harness right at the hitch 9 times outta 10 it is a bad wire right there. Another thing it will do is beep check twine and clutch out the baler in bumpy fields the twine feeding wheels by your pressure quage will move a little and the computer just reads it as a problem also sometimes you have to get out and move the wheel just so its not so close to the censor. Usaully dont have to get out of the tractor to many times and can enjoy the A/C !
