We've about wore out the tires on our Fusion. I gave around $150/per 5 years ago. The same ones go over 200 now. I looked at 225/r50/17s on Amazon and they offer several for between $70-$100 per tire. Does anyone have experience buying tires that way? TIA, gm

I bought 6 tires for my F550 on Amazon about 4 years ago. No issues at all. They've done well.

I've had good luck buying tires from Walmart. Go to their website and pick out anything you like then have it sent to the store of your choice. They have most popular brands plus several discount brands.

Depending on how you feel about WalMart, but I've always found the best deals on their website. Shipped to the store, installed at the store. I realize not all of them are alike, but mine does excellent tire work. Even drive a figure eight in the back lot before the final torque on the lugs.

They always seem to have a wide variety of grades and prices online. That size starts at $61 and there are selections over 200 buck a tire. Choose your poison.

By the way, the Nexgen brand has worked well for me at the lower/middle of the range.

And a lot of tire shops are now refusing to sell and install anything but the same size, type and rating as per the vehicle maker.

I would charge $20 each to mount and balance. Then charge you $20 to rotate them each time you brought it in for a rotation.

Bought from me.
Free mount and balance and free rotation every 5000 miles for the life of the tire. Or free at every oil change if I did your oil. Plus four free flat repairs.

You are not saving anything when buying from Amazon or Walmart if you look at the big picture.

We put tires on both vehicles four years ago, 35+ miles now. Got Firestone Destination 3 at tires plus, tire pressure monitors updated, life alignment and balance came to $800.00 on the Honda CR V and $950.00 on the Ford Explorer. Great traction in the snow and wet conditions. I would buy them again.

Glad to hear that the current 'Costco Michelins' are good, years back I bought Michelins from Costco and they wore out so fast I couldn't believe it. Then I found out they were made by UNIROYAL, no wonder...
For the last 10 years I have a set of TOYO tires much the same size as Gary's, the tread is still legal after 100 000 miles minus some winter driving with snows. I would look to buy them again.

We could only get around 35,000 miles on tires for our SUVs until I happened to buy a set of Goodyear Assurance Weathereadys for the Highlander. We got almost 60K on that set and just started on our second set now - put on around 90K. They are not cheap, but lasted a heck of a lot better than anything else we tried. I had to get both sets from Tire Rack because our local guys did not have them.

I've been buying all my tires for me and my boys families for at least 20 years. I buy all mine from E-Bay. Haven't had any problems. I have my own tire machine and balancer.

Did that ONCE. Got China bombs. 2 separated at 2000 miles. One was a blowout at 60mph.. No more online tires for me.
