I don't know about you, but this hot weather just sucks the life out of me. I needed to replace a couple blades on my flail mower. I park it under one of our pepper trees in the shade, makes it a little cooler. The blades were missing in a row leaving a leaving a mow hawk hair cut appearance. causing me a lot of time making over lapping cuts. The mowing would have satisfied the fire dept. but not me. Even when disking in damp ground years ago. the dirt would stick between the blades. Then the tractor would bog down, the disk pushing up a pile of dirt. leaving a big streak in the field. Those who do disking know the feeling, and the saying blades balling up. Stan in Hot California.

Changed out an axle bearing on my disc last week. As usual had a minor problem get the bearing trunnion off the frame. Of course it was the inside bearing, so I had to take all the blades off. By the time I got it back together was soaking wet. Did it in the shade of the shop with a 48 inch water drip fan running. I am ready for frost!

I’m north of 37 cheif by about an hour and a half. It’s supposed to be over 100 for the next week. Unheard of weather. At least my house is at about 2000 ft elevation. We rarely get to 100 but a few miles away yesterday the car said 104 outside. This is weather I could do without.

I am not sure where you guys live in California, but I am here in the Mojave Desert and it's been a little toasty, I did live in Bridgeport Ca. for a bit which was pretty cool, winters were a bit frigid but hey. I have always told my friends here in the dessert there are 4 months I could live without and the 1st one starts with June..
