How do these compression numbers look?

1952 Oliver 77 compression. The test was done with all the spark plugs out and wide open. Here are the numbers. How do they look? should I add some "restore" oil to it?

1 125

2 130

3 130

4 147

5 135

6 140

It depends what you are looking for it to tell you. It looks like numbers that would be runable to me. My question would be when were the valves last set? A tight valve could definitely cause the 125 you show in cylinder 1. You can go ahead and add the voodo juice if you want, as in many other cases expecting a miracle from something that sounds to good to be true should be regarded with low expectations.

Pretty good numbers. I am looking at number 1 cyl with 125 and wondering if you rechecked it ? And have u given each cyl. 5 puffs of compression ? You’re allowed 10 percent variation, so nothing to get too concerned about. # 4 cyl might be carbon’ed up a bit. What are the plugs showing ? Don’t know what this restore oil is ur talking about. Plus if it’s not using oil you’re good. When the rings are worn out the compression will be higher if you squirt 4or 5 shots in. Plus look at your blow by that tells a story right there.

With a warm engine, adjust the valves. Put the tractor to work. Make sure the valves have a chance to seat in. Then with a warm engine, do your compression test again? Readings are good except for number one cylinder. Give a try?

to check blow by I took out the dipstick with the engine running cuz I was told that if you felt air blowing out that's a good way to tell if you have blow by or not. if that's the case I had next to none blow by. plugs are darker but not super carboned up.

will do. just so everybody knows it's not that this tractor runs bad or anything it just was sitting for a long time so I'm trying to figure out how healthy the engine is. Also think it might have a tiny knock though
