How to cut up a round bale

My first thought was to use a hay knife but the chainsaw seems a lot easier now days.

Stand it on it's end and use a pitchfork to unroll it.

I have goats and a garden.Just give the goats round bales they will eat about 75% of it and then lie down on it,manure on it,etc.Feed them in two different places, come Spring I have some of the best garden fertilizer
that can be had.About June or so I pile it all up in a big pile.About now I'm spreading it on the garden along with lime and Planters II,disk it all in and plant my Crimson Clover for the Winter.
