Well i still have one . Been around them since Sept . of 63 . Man i worked for back then bought the first one shown to the public at the Canfield Fair over Labor day . the next Saturday my uncle bought the next one to hit the area. . Both of them got Turbos installed by General Maintenance Diesel out of Canfield . i got to run both of them . Back then they were MONSTERS of the field five bottom plow 18 foot disc . My boss like it so well he bought a second one and ran two along with two 706 's , my uncle bought a 706 the next spring . I did not get a 806 till like 86 when i snagged one at Stilesville with a bad T/A and started scarffing every bad T/A i came across . My one Jockey buddy thought i had lost my mind buying them along with the dead row ones . Donny and i did a ton of traveling and covered sales in five states . Sometimes we would split up with the others shopping list and a blank check also i did buying for a old Oliver dealer north of me , ah the new age of the cell phone . I think it was like 87 when i bought the second 806 from my old bosses farm the new owned was selling it due to a leak up in the ft bolster by sealed bid and i placed my bid a cheap bid of 2150 bucks and won the bid . The o/ring on the cap was blowen . Took about and hour to fix as ya had to remove the left frame rail to get to the one bolt . Took it to the sale down at my buddy's brothers monthly auction and it sold for 5625and it is still in the neighborhood.

Ya can't beat a 806 . Ya keep everything adjusted in the clutch and dump valve keep the fluids changed regularly they will out live you . Mine is not so good looking but runs vary well with over 11000hrs and only the valve cover has been off ONCE . I just replaced the range trans shifting fork due to my one friends kid getting a little rough on slam shifting it . mine has become the GO To tractor of the neighborhood and at times i have to go hunt it down . I have had to put two clutches in it though due to pulling silage wagons off the one farm my one friend was renting and that on steep hill got the clutch two years running . we were dragging BIG silage wagons loaded to the roof and were weighing 34-38000 lbs per load way more then we should have been pulling with a 13500 lb tractor

Never owned an 806. But I've owned a 706 for 42 years.Late '67;310 german turbo charged(makes 96 horse);56 series shifters;13,000 hrs. My baby,will never leave.

Happy with my gas 806. Has enough power for what I need & isn't too bad on gas.
