It's finally gone

Brothers Volvo FE7 he used to haul his cattle. It had 68,000 miles. The state of California decided these older diesel trucks were causing a lot of pollution. I sold it for 500.00 to someone who it taking it to Arizona, where the state leaders have more sense. I did better with his Featherlite Aluminum 18 ft trailer. Still have 4 pickups. He got hooked on pain pills, and died Jan first three years ago. Time sure goes by fast. Stan

Boy that seems cheap ! Sorry to hear of the loss of your brother. I’m sure it doesn’t seem like 3 years ago. The opioid pain killers are dangerous. I had hip replacement 2 weeks ago. They had me on a low dose opioid pain killer the first week. I was supposed to take 4 per day. I only took 2 per day. When I stopped taking them I couldn’t fall asleep and only slept a few hours a night. I’m pretty sure my body was getting used to the pills. Those drugs are no joke. Scary.

I think my first hip replacement was 2017. The second one was a couple years ago. According to the doctor's office I would go home the same day, but the hospital had other ideas and kept me overnight. When the surgeon questioned my still being there the next morning, I told him he was asking the wrong person! Maybe he should concentrate on communication with the hospital. I didn't take any pills after leaving the hospital.

I had a hip replacement summer before last. Took a total of 7 Percocet after I got home. I think I could have done without some of those. Best to take as few as you can get by with.

Bob I agree totally. They had me walking and going up stairs a few hours after I got out of surgery. Surgery was at 7:30 and I was home by 1-1:30. Many, many inconsistencies between different the surgeon, nurses, therapists, and other staff involved. Every time one said something different I made sure I said something like that’s not what so and so just said. They just told me everyone does things a little different.Surgeon gave me a packet of what I was supposed to do. What I could and couldn’t do. I did what she said. Figured she knew best. I primarily just used Tylenol. Stronger when I reallly needed.

Rj they gave me Tramadol. Supposed to be 4 a day for 7 days. I took 2 a day. Morning and night. For getting going and sleeping. They also gave me oxycodone for when the pain was real bad. Never took any. Just been taking Tylenol 2 times a day. Getting better every day.

Scary scary stuff. Sorry to hear about your brother. We had some family history of that on my wife’s side. You look at doctors different and even question yourself sometimes after something like that I know I did.

When I had hernia surgery earlier this year, in the recovery room they asked if I had pain. Had a bunch, they gave me a OxyContin. 15 minutes later i vomited it up. Only took a few Tramadol at home.
