I've been doing that for years

I sharpen 93 flail mower blades twice a year. I use my 4 inch hand grinder. I hold each blade with one hand, and sharpen it.. Some times my grinder gets a little close to my glove, and nicks my finger. The glove does no good, a couple days I nicked a finger again.. This has to stop, before I so some real damage. I grabbed my vise grips, clamped on the blade, Worked so good, now my fingers are no where near the spinning grinder disk. Why didn't I think of this years ago? Probably, I was in a hurry to sharpen the blades. I am sure others do the same thing year after year, when there is a easier or safer way. Stan

I sharpen mine by clamping them in a vise. Then u got control of the grinder to get a good edge on the blade. Plus u need to make sure u take the same amount of each end to keep them in balance.
