John deere 544 B engine to trans u joint replacement

Hello a friend has a 544 B pay loader that he needs to replace the u joint between the engine and trans ,,How is this done ( trained octapuss) ?? it can't be reach from the side , every way, you would need 5 ft long arms.. Thanks Bryan

My boss has a 444B when we had to put joints in that shaft my fellow worker had to crawl under and up to get his short, thin, wirey self under there to get to it. If I remember correctly I had to direct him through a spot I could barely see what he was doing. It wasn't easy and I was surprised we accomplished it. Seems like the bolts were battered up because the joint tore up and we had lift the front wheels to get the shaft in phase to get it back together. The whole thing was a nightmare.
It might be easier if you took a rear wheel off. It's just a thought.
