John Deere 80 repairs.

Started on the JD repairs today. So far the disassembly is going good except for one broken bolt that is a nasty one. The bottom RH bolt that holds the front grille assembly on. Any how I’ll post more pictures as I get farther into it.

This is where I stopped working on the 80 tonight. Will get the underneath stuff done tomorrow. Then it will be ready to split. RH axle seal is leaking and there is too much “ play “ on the axle. Great time to fix some of the things that a previous owner did to patch things up as well. Going to take a rare weekend off from farm work and old tractor work. More to come next week. Stay safe.

Why are u tearing down a nice good looking j d 80 ?? Original is always top notch and always try to keep them in that condition.

Hi rustred. It’s not getting painted. It’s a good original paint tractor that engine wise and starter motor wise is really good. Just fixing a rear axle leak and a bunch of other little mechanical and body issues. I also like them a bit rusty and field used. We are going to be up in the Edmonton area on the weekend. Picking up our second family century farm award plaque and then watching some curling at Nisku.
