John Deere 820 Alternator help

all the 820's i have seen have generators.

According to the parts catalog on JD parts, they had Bosch generators and regulators up to serial number 075344, starting with serial number 075345 they had Bosch 28-amp alternators with external regulators or Bosch 55-amp internal regulated alternators as original equipment.

ok, was wondering as never saw an alternator on one, didnt even know alternators where out in 1958. but then its a bosch, might be ahead of times.

Well that explains it ! I was referring to the big 2 banger tractor , not this tonka toy. I pretty much knew there was no alternator’s in the late 50’s. Geez the old 830’s had generators also. Plus a tractor picture would have settled this also.

There is also a similar JD model 830 utility tractor that has a 3 cylinder engine
