I installed the Jib Crane halfway between the ceiling lights in my shed/shop and it was dark working on a tractor so I added 2 4’ Led lights on each side of the jib. My step ladder wasn’t tall enough until I put it in the back of the pickup. I used 2 4’ pieces of rebar welded on the top bar and hung the lights on them. Adds a lot of light where I need it.

Super99, that is a jib crane setup a lot of us would love to have in our shop. I'm having a little trouble with the end design of that framework, seems it should have some type of reinforcement connecting to the top frame. Seems to me that you have lost the entire strength of the arm and are depending on the simple strength of the short piece of square tubing at the very end. Not criticizing the design just having a little trouble understanding it.

I agree with Gary. Maybe put a X brace in that last span.
 
First thing I saw , no way I be lifting anything where that hoist is sitting. That’s a long span also. Has to be some sort of weight chart to go by. Even put a stopper so it don’t roll to the end.
 
Frankly I was more worried about the lights clearing the crane when swiveled. As for the tube with the hoist That is his worry and from past posts I believe he has enough sense to not lift much more than a cylinder head out that far.

It was longer but has but cut off in it's former life. You can't see it in the last picture because of the lights but I cut a piece of square tube and welded it between the cut off ends.

The lights are fastened to the jib and move with it.

I don’t know how strong that lift is. But I was lifting on a home made (not mine) jig and the swivel was a 1 ton axle. That axle snapped and I almost ended in the hospital with major trouble. It had a 6 ft arm that had max 200 lbs on the end. After 5 years of use it snapped. Be careful is all I can say.
 
The photos seem to me to show a stop bolt.
the only stop bolt i see is so the trolly dont roll out the end. the stop bolt needs to be at least before the 4th vertical. lifting any weight where its sitting now will just bend that horizontal piece depending on weight or break it right off. as you know the farther a person goes away from the centre the more your lifting weight is reduced. i wouldnt lift a tire with fluid like that. well it would lift a front tire ! lol. its a homemade unit and not really built correctly. not running it down just pointing out some safety factors, so u dont run into a predicament. take a look at the long grain augers, you will get the idea.

it was due the axle having no flex, it just snapped off from being brittle. look at drill pipe for example, you drill down vertically and gradually do your directional turns and end up drilling horizontally. pipe does bend.
 
It appears to me that there are 2 bolts. One at the very end and one that would stop the trolly immediately below the outboard most vertical. The pics aren't terribly clear so I could be wrong.

This little circled spot?
Looks like a rust spot to me as it is not at same level as the trolley stop bolt on the very end.

Others are suggesting another vertical member at the very end.

That lower member appears to be upside down UniStrut or hopefully a super duty version of UniStrut.

Yes. The smaller green circle looks like a stop bolt. It could be rust. Hard to tell. Earlier he said he welded a piece between the cut-off ends but I may have misunderstood what he was describing.
