Longer plowing video....

Than the short I posted.

In this video, I'm out back with the H & Oliver plow in what's usually my potato patch. It's getting a rest from those this year & (I think) corn is going in.

There will be more videos with the H in it this year. It's getting a shakedown, so I can figure out if there are any other issues before cleaning it up, fixing a few things & giving it some paint. Unless I go with plan B & just replace one of the rear rims & the paint it a dark oxide red to match the rest of the tractor.

Good stuff! IMO there's not much better than the smell of fresh-turned soil. BTW, what happened to your seat shock absorber? I assume that's one of the "things to do" on your list.
New tractors have more operator comfort things and fancy electronics, but cannot pull a plow any better than that.

Thank you! The shock is there, it's just hiding behind the SMV sign & seat spring.

That H & plow setup are a very smooth running combo.

I've watch many guys try to run their plow as deep as possible; IMO that is not correct. I did it the way you do, turn the topsoil, ie: 5-6"deep. Here if I plowed deeper I was turning up clay_not good.
I'm anticipating that next video.

I try to keep to around 7" - 8" in that patch, to keep it nice & loose for potatoes. Otherwise it's usually around 4" - 5" or I'll run out of topsoil.
