MF 65 with Loader

My loader is very weak. Extremely slow lifting a bucket of dirt or stone. Looking for advice on a fix. Add a PTO pump with tank? Shaft driven pump off the front? Or something else? Looking for the least expensive way to go so I can use my bucket better. Yesterday, the relief valve started spitting out hydraulic fluid when lowering the loader. Pictures are of my set up.
Any advice welcome.
Thanks, Terry - Greenwood, IN.

terry looks like the set up me and dad had years ago, if everything is right should not be a problem but i ended up with a lot of the same problems. i end up buying a skid steer but before i did that i was thinking of doing the PTO pump also. my loader had a tank built in the frame so buying a pump and some plumbing.

Just so you are aware....the front end pivot bushings on a 65 are not very thick. It saves a lot of work if you replace them before they are worn through and the pivot pin wears the bushing hole oblong.

Your tractor is an early 65. The pump was rated at 4.2 gallons per minute, so the loader is not going to be fast. You will also have a problem installing a front pump. The steering arm that is attached to the shaft in the front bolster will hit the pump shaft when you steer to the left.

Learn that the hard way after wearing through a custom made shaft. Ended up with having a new shaft made and welding on stops to the steering arms.

I have heard that about early 65’s. Mine is a 1958. So a pto pump and tank might be a better fit? If so, suggestions on pump size and tank size? Where is the best place to purchase?
