Mf202 loader control valve

Hey everyone long time lurker first time caller.

I'm digging into the loader control valve on my mf202 and have run into a a bit of an issue and hope yall could help.

Reading through the forums it seems parts are nearly nonexistent for the control valves and often the only option is to fabricate new mounts and replace with a modern valve. If that's the route that must be taken then so be it. But in hopes to keep things original I figured I'd ask if anyone has a modern part number for the secondary springs as neither the Davis nor MF number comes up with any results. Otherwise if anyone that has replaced their valve happens to have 2 good secondary springs they would be willing to sell as, besides the seals which I have already located, is the only problem with my control valve.

Thanks everyone for any help you may be able to offer

The valve is toast. There was/ is no practical way to "rebuild" it.

The spools, first picture, were ground and polished and then lapped to the valve body. That extremely close tolerance is what keeps the valve from leaking. The seals are more to keep out dust and water than to keep fluid in.

How are the hydraulic hoses going to the valve?

My money would be better spent replacing the Spool Valve, Hoses, and adding a proper return filter. I put my filter in the suction. In hindsight, it should have gone in the return.

McMaster-Carr has or will make any spring, if you wish to go that route.

To put it simply, the hoses are holding as they sit but they are definitely on the list of things that will be getting replaced. Wanted to dig into the valve first and get it figured out before investing in the hoses in case i needed to adjust their lengths for a new valve. I figured if I have to go the route of a new control valve I might as well add a third function for something like a grapple while I'm at it. I'm considering something along the lines of the Prince RD532GCCGAA5A4B1 for the upgrade.

I see you have a couple extra ports plumbed into your valve mind sharing their purpose?

Keep in mind the cylinders on that loader don't have any checks. If the hose blows, gravity takes over. Fast. Ask me how I know...

Hydraulic hose: the outer rubber protects the steel core and the steel core holds the inner hose together. Once the steel core is compromised, it's only a matter of time before the inner hose blows.

If the hoses to the valve needs to be replaced, change the valve too. Otherwise, deal with the leaking valve.

If replacing the valve: Prince recommends a 25 micron filter, minimum. Install a modern filter.

I have the same 5300 series valve on mine. It's a quality USA made product. A third function could be used for a grapple or the top link. I wish had gotten 3rd spool. I also regret not getting the float spool. I bought mine back in 2022 during the supply chain crisis. It took something like 16 or 20 weeks to get what I got. Such is life....

If planning on adding attachments, look into converting to a skid steer quick change system. I sure regret not doing that. A grapple would be handy.

Surplus Center has a great selection of hoses and fittings. It's much cheaper to use standard length NPT hoses from Surplus Center. The hoses are USA made. Order the valve with ORB (dash) fittings.

The three-way valve and quick connectors on mine are for my log splitter.
