Minneapolis Moline M602 starter

Hello, new to the site. I have a starter on my M602 that is not engaging the flywheel. I have had the starter taken apart and repaired a minor starter drive problem but still no engagement. I flywheel looks fine. I notice about 1/4 inch of play, back and forth, in the drive when it is plunged to full extension. Any ideas? A new starter drive is not available and salvaged drives are not either (whole starters are available but for $500 with the core).

Link to source for starter drive.

Wow, thanks for the quick reply WO! However, that starter drive does not look like the drive in my Delco Remy 1113620. And I do not see my starter model referenced anywhere. Can I be sure that this unit will mesh with my starter and flywheel?

There is a phone number on that site. Give them a call. Often, new replacements do not look exactly like the originals. Just found that out on a Ford 6.9 diesel starter. The Mitsubishi replacement looks almost nothing like the original, but it works much better.

Thanks Skipper, I will do this on Monday!

Yes, that drive SHOULD fit your application and your Delco 1113620, but cross references are not always 100% correct, so check it out!

Below is a more extensive drive cross reference for a Delco 1113620 on an M602.
