Been an odd year for moisture.
I live in a heavy clay soil area, and do better if it is too dry than too wet. Average rainfall here is a tad too wet for me.
25 miles SW of me they are really dry. Hurting the crops.
50 miles south east of me I drove past bean fields last weekend that were standing water, the low areas look very weak from too much rain.
My ditch has been mostly low, my tile has been running or trickling all summer, we have mostly been a little dry which is good for me and neighbors. They were pulling water out of my ditch for the road project going on, think they had to find a different source this week the pump is gone but they are still watering. The ditch is still running, but maybe not as fast as a 3 inch hose can suck out of the shallow depression they were using. Wife was joking we will see minnows and chubbie tails in the new road bed.
A lot of hot very very humid weather, even if it was dry for rain the crops were watering themselves from the dew every night and honestly most of every day.
