When I see these accidents I first wonder how they happened and then, more importantly, if the operator was hurt or worse. Many tractors, especially older models do not
have ROPS attached.

gtractorfan The tread on the tires looks backwards.
That is because it is upside down.they are on correctly.

Looks like the result of an accident with another vehicle.
If he drove it off the edge, the suitcase weights would have stayed on longer and be in the ditch too.
As well as a lot of oil dry on pavement. Maybe laid down after the othe vehicle was towed away.

hd, follow the tread angle with your eye up the right side of the tires in the photo and around to what would be the top by the fender. You will then see that they are on backwards from normal installation which allows the angle of the bar to sweep loose material towards the outside of the tire when slippage occurs at the traction contact area.

Cut in two and glued back together?

If they were mostly running on roadways, they might have mounted them in that direction, which appears to be backwards from the common mounting direction for fieldwork. JMHO

(quoted from post at 14:59:49 07/03/23) This must be one of those pictures where everything is a mirror image? The front tire is also on backwards.
Doing that only makes lettering and logos mirror image.

Even if you were looking thru the backside of a negative the tread direction vs the tractor would not change.
