They said every H in the country was at the bridge. They said if there wasn't one on every other trailer that pulled in, there was two on the fourth trailer.

H is a nice size for showing easy to haul and fast on the road for tractor drives. usually, they can be found at a reasonable price. I am still in shock at that JD 4020 I saw go at auction for $24,000 plus an auction fee a couple weeks ago.

Going to have to do something the hood is down to bare metal. I know some say rub oil or some other thing even clear spray. If you're going to clear enamel it might as well paint it. I like em in their work clothes and all gussied up. Don't like rust though.

Okay now for the issue update on why it wouldn't run: as far I as can tell it is the ignition switch. This thing is so old (and I'm beginning to think all original) the key cylinder locks/detents are non existent the contacts just ain't getting made. About one try out of twenty and you can get it to light off. But don't go too far cause the slightest bump and you're fiddling with that switch again.

I really did luck out on this one! This thing is so smooth it purrs and the ride is nice, power steering is nice. everything seems to work except the gauges. Even the lights work! Will have to poke around behind the dash when I put the new tach. and switches in. My new FAVORITE tractor!

I must admit I like your patina a little more than the fresh paint mine got. Nice front wheel
Weights! I found hydraulic valve lever linkages and additional valve from Bates Corp., mine was farmerized to place pioneer couplers at the rear. Seems to be good parts around though i haven’t needed any engine parts yet. On the subject here’s a pic of my two favorites

Way cool! 340 and an Oliver. I'm guessing 550? I'm thinking this might be a good tractor to learn how to paint on. The hood really needs some attention or I could see things getting ugly in a hurry. Hate to say it on here but I may rattle can the sheet metal. The the rest is still good on account of the coat of oil and grime. Paint the sheet metal, degrease the rest and look for any leaks.

Sharp eyes to notice the front wheel weights. Thanks for posting your faves.

Nothing wrong with rattle cans if done right. Just give it a couple extra coats.
