Sure, it's been talked about before. Case 430 1961 model. Is the desert sunset the same in 1961 as later years. Some look darker and some look lighter in pictures, I know mine has faded a lot and has some bare spots showing. Looking to cover bare spots and do some other painting with rattle cans. Seriously consider something besides rattle cans from a quality of paint standpoint and from a cost standpoint. For sake of conversation, let's assume that a rattle can cost $10.00. That's $10.00 for four ounces of paint. That is the equivalent of $320 per gallon. One can buy some high quality paint for that price. You pay a hefty premium for convenience.

Desert Sunset and Power Red are 20 bucks a can at the CNH dealer. Pretty good quality though.

The shade doesn't matter when using rattle cans. It will fade out a lot in just a year or two.

In my experience the desert sunset does fade. Clearcoat helps but it does fade.

Restored and repainted a 300 30 years ago and the paint is holding up fine. I use it like the pocket on my shirt so it gets its scratches and wear offs (it gets tarped most of the time). I touch it up with rattle cans of primer and Desert Sunset. The secret is to lightly sand with 320 grit around the area you wish to paint. If it doesn't quit match after the paint dries use polishing compound to blend the old in. Most likely all your sheet metal needs a polish with a lot of elbow grease.

Desert Sunset is all the same, the red on yours is Flambeau Red, Power Red did not get introduce until the 70 series, I believe the Power White was the first to use power red, a lot of the differences comes from primer color and amount of fade!
