Planted my deer food plots with pasture wheat 8 days ago.there was some moisture but I don’t know if it was enough for a lot of it to germinate.i covered it with about an inch of soil after broadcasting it .does wheat “wait” for rain to germinate and how long?

If sowed into moisture and the soil is warm wheat can be poking up in less than a week. Obviously it won't germinate at all if there is insufficient moisture and it will just lay there and wait.
