Powr Trol question

I'm sure this has probably been discussed here before, but thought I'd ask anyway.

My '42 A has been switched over to Powr Trol. I very seldom use it--only every few years I put the 4 row cultivator on to display. The rest of the time I don't use the Powr Trol. But when I do, I always need to add oil. Just curious as to where it goes. Does it leak into the rear end?

There are 2 places where hyd oil can leak into the rear end.

The first place is a blown cylinder gasket and the second place is the seals where the pto shaft goes
through the rock shaft housing. To repair either you have to remove the rock shaft housing. Since you have
to remove the housing it's best to replace both the gasket and the seals.

I'm just assuming it's leaking internally some place, as there are no visible leaks showing anywhere.
As mentioned, it's no big deal, as I very seldom use the Powr Trol. I just asked mostly out of curiosity.
Thanks for the replies.

At some point the oil level in the rear end will get high enough and leak
past the axle seals, which are probably worn out, and eventually leak out
the end of the axle housings.

With your limited pto use you can safely opt to do nothing about the
leak(s) which it sounds like you're going to do.
