Your tractor has a "wet clutch" operated and lubed by transmission/hydraulic oil and it would be MORE worrisome if you found that area "dry"!

Hello Comicjr, welcome to YT! Yes, it has a wet clutch as wore out says. John Deere calls them a Perma-clutch in these models. I didn’t watch this video but I know this guy does real good ones. He is describing the inspection and repair processes for the clutch. Perma-clutch video

He might have a powershift that shouldn't have the oil, but then that would be obvious where it came from or should be. He might be over his head.
