Question for diesel experts

I am in uk
A neighbour has converted a 2011 Ford transit van into a motor, but he is having problems on the diesel system
The problem that won’t go away is.. leaks from the return or leak off pipe on top of injectors
The leak off pipes have been renewed once but still giving problems
The only thing I could think of and is probably wrong…. is there a one way valve in the return pipe giving trouble

I'm not familiar with that engine, but are there clamps or clips on the injectors or return lines that are missing? There is fuel pooling around the injectors? All of them? Or just a one or two?
