Replaced radiator in Oct ‘23. Somehow my radiator cock drain plug fell out somewhere. Ran to Rural King to get another 1/4” npt and I cannot get it to start the thread. Any suggestions? Almost like it’s just a micron too big.

New radiator was likely made overseas and drain cock port MAY be BSP or some sort of metric thread.

Perhaps it could be "touched up" with the careful use of a 1/4" pipe tap?

That could work then apply a good dose of Teflon tape to the threads to seal up the open areas where the old threads in the radiator don't mesh with the threads of the new plug.
