We see a lot of pictures and videos featuring plows. They all seem to be 'one ways' Anybody have some of rollovers?

Not mine, but I'm talking to the owner about it

I have 5 rollover plows. A 4 bottom international think it's a 140. Two 3 bottom John Deere 825s one is just a parts plow. Ford 2 bottom and an old manual spin Allis Chalmers 2 bottom. The Allis was pretty farmerized when I got it. Just drug it around like a one way. Never spun great and it pulled hard. Little ford plowed good but small for the 3010. John deere is probably my favorite leaves nice even furrows. Wanted to really like the international but the tractor to pull it draft control isn't working and it doesn't leave even furrows. But it covers the ground. I'm in furrow irrigated country like you.

It is a Case, i'd guess the time is right, I have a 730 that I think it would go good on, just because it would be different around here.
A friend had a three bottom roll over plow on a 730 JD and it made the tractor pretty light in the front. With the plow raised, he had to back uphill so the front wouldn't come up.

We had 1,000 lbs of weight upfront on our 826 with a three bottom roll over plow. Don’t think we would have wanted any less.

I never saw one in my part of the country . But as a kid I could not imagine why the plow shares were sticking up in the air in the farm magazine ads! But it seems like everyone who pulls one has one less bottom in the ground than we did with a one way plow. Of course our 200 acres was broken up in small fields. We would have gotten lost with a 1/2 mile long field

I have a 2 bottom Ford rollover plow with hydraulics doing the turning and this 1 bottom 18" Dearborn that switches mechanically as you raise and lower the 3pt arms.

i think they were more popular in Europe where many fields are a lot smaller. they also have high $$ fuel so not wasting fuel driving across the headlands would make sense too.

never knew anyone that owned one.

They are used a lot in flood irrigating. Keeps field level without blind furrows.
I use em. Here in furrow irrigated western Colorado, that is all we use. You wont find a one way type here.Acctually,I have several.Lindeman one bottom(for 8N);AC 2-12"(modified for 8N);IH #39 'tumble bug';IH#210Fast hitch(2x16)IH#620(2x16)IH#314(3x14);IH #642(4x16).I just thought it would be nice to see other two ways. And to show the folks who have never seen one.

I enjoyed seeing yours when I was there. Our 350U would need 800 pounds on the front to keep it on the ground. Jim

Here's mine. Moline model TK

That was the rule of thumb for rollovers in our area; plow with one less bottom than you normally could with a drawn plow.
