I'm sure this has been talked about before but do you guys loosen the belts over winter?
Jim, the gauge you mentioned, was it factory installed, or your addition? Mine is my addition. JD didn't have enough sense to show me the courtesy of letting me know what kind of pressure I was putting on my round bales.....aka how solid they were and what they would weigh!I never lowered pressure on belts on my JD rd balers in 35 yrs of custom rd baling business. It would surprise me although I can't remember ever checking baler hyd gauge at beginning of new hay season if there was much pressure on tractor/baler hyd system after extended storage
I had a used 530 for my first JD and second roller after a Hesston piece of........ I recall a cab instrument connected to a cable to the baler but forgot what exactly was obtainable on the unit.....been too long ago.Texasmark
To my knowledge all JD rd balers designed to make 72'' diameter bales that applied hyd pressure to the belts which is all I ever owned or really liked had hyd gauge installed at the factory. These same balers had an adjustable hyd valve to control bale density & also has a hyd tension cylinder on each side of belt tension arm. Internal bale weight scale is an option on later model JD rd balers.
Woo....It's been awhile. I remember the buzzer. That's about all. Thanks, Jim.530 rd baler came from factory with a hyd gauge & valve to adjust hyd pressure applied to belts & forming bale. 530 monitor was very simple with 2 gauges, 3 warning lights & warning buzzer.
You're wecomeWoo....It's been awhile. I remember the buzzer. That's about all. Thanks, Jim.
