I recently have posted an ad on here. This morning I got a call from a number in Georgia from a Indian/Pakistani sounding person. Right out the gate I could tell it was a scammer and not a very good one, but I don't want anyone to fall victim so I'm posting an image of the number they called from. Also anytime your selling, if there is anything that doesn't sound legit, run it's not worth it. This fool called about a restores tractor talking about being a mechanic who repairs and flips tractors and he was going to do that with this one. Just be careful out there when not selling face to face.

Thank you for posting this. I have been getting a text about an item that I have for sale. Same number. I had a feeling that something about that number wasn't to be trusted. Thank you again for confirming my instincts.

Thanks for posting that, but FYI they have 100s of thousands of phone numbers they can use! They can even make it so it looks like they are calling from your area code and within your 3 digit prefix. Easy money brings many low-life’s to the playing field.

What didn't sit well with me was that it appeared to be a landline from Atlanta area. I never heard of a text coming from a landline?? And that the area code was the same as the first three digits of the number??

Scammers can display any phone number they want on a Caller ID.
I post my land line phone number in my Ad's. and Let the Machine take a message. And Call them back on my Cell Phone
Most Times a scammer will call and not leave a message.
If it is someone that wants my Item I feel that they will leave a message and I will call them Back

Yup...phone number spoofing. They can make you think the call is from a local number. One day at work, a co-worker got a call and the caller ID was his own phone number!

That happened to me too. It was my phone number that was displayed on caller ID.

i usually reply "bring cash when you pick it up" and they pretty much never bother me again.

but usually they aren't worth the time and if you reply or answer the phone they then know its a live phone # and will keep using it.

its a shame they waste technology skills on this nonsense.

Got a phone call just yesterday. The caller said he was from Bank of America. He said there was a problem with my account. He spoke with such a bad Indian accent that I could barely understand him. The phone number was 677-0720. I have had the same guy do this once before. I politely told him to go ##$%& himself.

X2 Don’t answer calls that you don’t recognize. If it’s important they will leave a voice mail. If your selling something don’t include your phone number. Use a site that acts as a go between for communication.
