Separate or Filet? Welding Question

Eric, I hate to burst your condescending bubble, BUT, The shear pin was made in America by Titan! I mic'd and measured mine according to spec. Now back to other facts: The tractor didn't rear bump or flip. I was using the subsoiler to remove small pine stumps that mostly had rotted, successfully. Up to the twelfth one. That one bumped the subsoiler upward, and since I was using a flimsy 2" receiver it bent and rotated my spreader bar folding the "Pitman Arm" the repair of which was the intent of the OP. My tractor and my equipment are appropriate for my ranch and if any of those reading our diatribe need "real Man" equipment I am sure that they will be in touch with you.

Mr Dirk, if a fail rate of 1 use in 12 works for you, enjoy! I offered a specific way to adjust your "safety feature" to only improve your operations. Cheap and fast also. Bending and breaking components is regrettable, usually avoidable, and sometimes inherently dangerous. You broke your stuff when operating on your property doing your task. Perhaps I ain,t your problem. I have and had no opinion on a #37oo kabuta, I only noted that the components depicted in you submitted photo thing presented a bit delicate, by the standards of useful Yesterdays Tractors. Often, lightly built components can be well pressed to real work without failures. Takes engineering, proper conponent selection, correct operation, and , perhaps, a better than thin skin. Your tractor, your parts, you busting stuff, now formally your mess and problem.

Thank you , Eric for the thoughtful reply. I will say that there was hardly a "bump" when the part failed. And now I will reach out to Titan and see what the expected failure forces are for the shear pin just for grins. And from now on I'll use a chain to pull stumps.
