Pete, don't matter if its radial, rotary or round. I think this is an item not received issue. I would call my bank or credit card company. They can put a hold on it and give so long for it to be delivered. I have seen some of this stuff and it is generally made in China India or some such place. They should provide legitimist tracking number Although there can be issues from overseas till it gets stateside, as one poster said. I try online to buy from sellers that are stateside and avoid the overseas thing. There may be some waiting period or pending before you get a refund. hope this helps a little.

That's the thing here. There's no timeframe. Did they order it yesterday, last week, Black Friday, or three months ago?

Providing tracking before an order is shipped is common practice and not at an indication of a scam. Will the credit card company even do anything if a reasonable amount of time hasn't passed?

Have any of you seen on YouTube an ad for a kit to build a miniature six-cylinder rotary engine? The ad shows a very dramatic model with the pistons going back and forth. Then shows how the parts get broken out of an aluminum pad prior to assembly. It was about $80 with free shipping. The company is called Alghabet. They did respond with an email acknowledging my order, then nothing more. There is a link on the email the track the package, but that link is a dead end. I suspect I got scammed, so I’m asking if anyone else knows anything.

You probably received an expected delivery date on when you placed the order or in the order acknowledgement. Until the item is overdue, I would not worry about it. Items shipped from overseas, like from China, can take three to six weeks to be delivered. That is without any abnormal supply chain disruptions. Tracking will show that the item has shipped, then nothing more for a long time while the boat crosses an ocean. Tracking information often starts updating again after the item is through U.S. customs and has been transferred to a delivery service like USPS or FedEx.

I had a purchase go bad late last summer. It seemed a little funky right from the beginning (too good a deal), so I used a credit card that I rarely use and kept an eye on it. The card got hacked within a couple weeks, and after 30 days I reported it as fraud. They sent me a new card and took off the charge, so no harm, no foul. I do still need to find another lawn sweeper though.

How long ago did you place your order? That slow boat from China can take awhile. Remember back when that thing we can't mention was winding down and people were freaking out because they were getting packs of unidentified seeds in the mail? It turned out they had actually ordered those seeds a year earlier and forgot about it.

Amazon does offer a few rotary engine kits, such as this one, if you're still interested. Radial engine kits seem to be more common.

For those still confused about 'rotary' versus 'radial' engines, rotary engines were the norm around the time of the first world war. Aircraft speeds were too slow to properly cool most air-cooled engines, so the solution was to rotate the engine to increase airflow. Gyroscopic and inertial forces from these engines made the planes that used them fairly treacherous to fly. Once designers figured out how to cool radial engines, the rotaries became obsolete; today you'll only find them in museums.

Bit of trivia: Howard Hughes crashed a rotary-engined plane while making Hell's Angels. Famed stunt pilot Paul Mantz refused to fly the maneuver Hughes wanted, so Howie flew it himself, not understanding the danger of that particular maneuver in a rotary-engined aircraft.

For sure - I have waited over two months for that container ship to arrive from China, then a long train ride for the container and finally sorting the contents then a truck ride to get to my state. Then the product was not the right one so I was told not to try to send it back and they refunded my money but I kept the model I didn't really want. Point is that it takes a loooong time for that container to get from China to your neighborhood.

First I just tried to help the op. The time frame is up to the credit card ad if he can show no response and so on. He should be on lookout for any hacked or scam charges on his card.
