Splitting a LS k5055

Need to split this 2 wheel drive open station tractor to get at a broken shift arm/lever in the transmission.anyone do this before?specifically does anything need to be disconnected prior to splitting it?

Unlikely anyone here has direct experience. Any time an LS tractor is mentioned the crabapples come out and poo-poo it to death. Only thing I can recommend to do is to crawl all over it and look for anything that crosses the seam where you'll need to split the tractor.

That must be why there is not a section under manufacturers for the LS tractors. Lol
