Storm damage

A big storm came out of Missouri and crossed through south east Iowa in to Illinois between Keokuk and Burlington and headed toward Rock Island. Local TV stations had weather guessers on from 6 until 9 pm. We had little wind but got 1.6 inches of rain. East of us about 15 miles between Edgington and Taylor Ridge, Illinois a tornado hit a bin site and tore up 3 or 4 grain bins. Worst part was the same bins got damaged a couple years ago and they just got them all fixed up this spring and now they are tore up again. There was an old Quonset next to a hog building on the same farm that got destroyed also.

Overnight rain. Gentle tho, and needed, but maybe not in one event. No violence. It's soggy...

I got 2.5” in Decatur. Rained really hard a couple of times but mostly slow steady the rest of the day

We had a dry hot early spring, then dry cold planting time, then got 2 heavy rains of about 2 inches each time, still cold and add in the smoke from Canada.

The last rain had a pretty strong wind with it, there was some small damage here and there across the region.

Too wet now, 4 inches of rain in a week and a half is way too much for this clay soil. Crops are looking small and frail and yellow, too cold, not enough sunshine, first too dry now too wet.

Hopefully likely they will come around and be a bumper crop this fall, but currently they look thin.

Hope the winds slow down too, so many strong wind days.

Sorry to see the damages in your area.

Paul
