summit cd ignition

I have a summit multispark ignition CD on my pulling tractor. It won't work right. All the wires are hooked up right, but it only sputters when I try to start it. Sometimes it pops like it is out of time. I think I may have a spark arcing somewhere under my cap. Any ideas?

With MSD type ignition you need a ford type large diameter HEI cap and rotor or it will cross fire.HTH
