Wagon running gear.

Fixing my brother a wagon running gear and I picked up one with a suspension of sorts where the bed bolsters are. It’s set up for pipe or adding a bed. Want to fix home a flat bed. Should I take the springs off or leave them. Not sure of the terminology here.
