Wrote a few weeks ago about Mongo, our rescue Pyrenees that liked to wander.
Wandering Pyrenees
So wound up buying this Dogtra GPS training collar.
Dogtra GPS Fence
He hasn't gone wandering since.
When you set a boundary, the collar sets up 3 "fences" before the dog escapes.
Starts with a tone, then a zap, for each of the 3 fences. And it differentiates between direction of travel....doesn't zap him if he's headed home, like if he breaks through the first fence, and decides to come back.
I set up the boundary on the perimeter of our 160 acres, so he can go anywhere on our farm. And I've watched him turn around when he gets to the perimeter...so it's working.
The first week, we had it on him almost 24/7. Since he's "learned", we only have it on him at night, and if we leave.
There is no tracking on this. I ordered it before I read the reply from Scott Farm. Another $100, and I could have tracking. But this is working for us...so far
I think he's liking the farm. Loves people. He's a good boy.
