What a morning

I got to a mowing job early before the sun came over the mountains. My JD 401 B started good with a new battery. I backed it off the trailer, then white smoke, and the motor stopped. A shot of eater, it started and quit. Tried it again same thing. Now I am at the end of the road, in the middle. I can't do any trouble shooting in the middle of the road. I drove home to get a chain fall to pull the tractor back on the trailer. By that time the sun is shining bright and hot. Got backed up to the trailer. I thought, if my starter would work to drive my tractor on the trailer that would save some time. It did. Probably took a few years off my starter, I really didn't like doing that, but I did. I got it partway on the trailer then used the chain fall to pull it the rest of the way up. I am thinking maybe the lift pump failed. It happed maybe 10 or so years ago. I hope your day went better than mine. stan

I haven't changed my mind on the Mag. For some reason my motorcycle hobby projects come last. Stan
