mccormick deering 15-20. them tractors opened up this country with them braking plows. that one is in the early or mid 20's

my dad broke a quarter of homestead land also with that same tractor and breaking plow, here in central alberta. it was like every farmer
had one.

i will also add my fathers parents came from the ukraine in 1929 and bought a quarter section of land for 10.00 . you had to open up the land and make it productive. most was all hand brushed and stumps blown out with dynamite. my uncle lost an eye due to that.it was all bush at the time. just as all the rest of the country. had to build their own log house to live in and other buildings like barn's for the horses and cows, and also pig pens, chicken coops. it was no where near like today where u just run to the store for groceries. flour was bought in 50 lb sacks for making bread also. then the sacks were made into dish cloths for washing and drying dishes. meat was all home grown. plus with a big garden. and people nowadays think they have it hard. also will add it took about one month to come over here on an old ship. i have the name of it also but not at the moment.

Oh, you're a fellow Canuck Rustred?

So what was the most popular tractor brand in the west back then?
Was there a lot of Deering and IH's here?

There was a strong Massey following here in Ontario. At least all the areas I am around.

The McCormick-Deering 22-36 looked just like that. Only difference was a slightly larger engine displacement. Dad had a 22-36 in North Dakota, not sure if there were any other identifying marks except the serial numbers and decals.

Yes a few things, the22-36 has double the rear wheel spokes ,32 is the number, vs 16 on the 15-30. Plus the hood on this one is the early 15-30 hood. Plus all the other things u cant see here.

I guess, thats what stompin Tom would say. Ihc was big
here in the early years. The 15-30s pretty much opened
up this country. Plus was a lot of j d Ds as dad said they
were too low for breaking and got hung up on stumps.
Plus Massey 44s were common as well as the case Ds.
Plus the Minnie Us kinda in the order I posted them as
getting into the newer ones from the 50s
