It is a drone crew spraying fields. The lift bucket is so the drone operator can keep a visual of the drone while spraying. The truck in front has the chemical and generators for charging the batteries and a place to store the drone between fields.

Well, my guess was it was a rainmaker trying to draw lightening. Your explanation makes more sense.

Big Potato farm near me has been using drones to spray potatoes this summer. They are not the little ones like you see at wally world.

Normally have to go to the airport to see the planes support crew

Since there isn't any poles maybe it was the only way they could install a flock camera.
