wide front tires

My 1950 ford 8N has 16 inch front rims and I want to buy tires that have the widest width possible with our rubbing the frame. Is a 7.5X16 too wide? or do I need to by something more narrow?

What kind of loader on your 8N, Are the hydraulics strong enough to keep the loader and backhoe on all the time?
The Loader is a Dearborn 19-71 model. The backhoe is a Scout brand they both run off a front mount hyd pump. It is set up so you can either use the loader or the back hoe but not both at once but then again who would use both at the same time

The ‘51 8N I bought has 7.5 tires on it. I had to flip the wheels around to make them clear the legs. It was not fun winching it onto the trailer with the cheap come along. They are definitely getting replaced with 5.50 or 6.00 very soon. Around $130 a pair.

Ford did offer tractors with 900x10 tires. = 9" wide x 10" rim.
The tires were 10 ply.
They are smaller in diameter tho so will drop your front end a couple/few inches.
The rims in the photo of the small tractor would be a direct bolt-on for an 8N.
You could probably find a set if you called around and asked for some off a later LCG model (low center of gravity)

Where are you finding 6.00-16's for $130 a pair? Best prices I'm finding are $109 each for tri ribs.
