    Issue with MF 35 backfiring

    My MF 135 was backfiring when I throttled down and someone on this forum told me to check the gasket between the exhaust manifold and the exhaust pipe. I thought this strange but after replacing the gasket and tightening the bolts, the backfire stopped.

    I don't know where you are but in Ontario, one like that, if in good condition, would run in the $3-4,000 range. My neighbour sold his 1958 MF 35 (diesel) several years ago for $6,300, an usually high price. I have 2 similar machines, and I expect they are worth around $3,500 each (Cnd.)
