    Ford 5610

    I have two of those Fords. A 5610 bought new in 1981 and a 5610 II bought in 2013 with 725 hours on it. Both have been very good tractors.

    Stuck clutch

    I have strapped the clutch pedal down with a bungee cord. Get on and drive it. Went thru a little dip in the pasture and mine came loose. Apply brake while driving might break it loose.

    Worked with a logger years ago. Some time we would end up with a short piece of oak. The loader operator would pinch it with the grapple and split it. He had a wood heater. Took all the work out of firewood processing.

    I hate birds again

    I had a problem with birds roosting on the structure above my truck. Got one of the plastic hawk decoys. Don't get the owl. Now he sits on the bed of my truck. No more poop on the truck. You may want to put one in a visible place near your tractor shed.

    When I have thin hay, I will rake a couple of windrows together. Cuts down on the baling time.

    Clearing a plugged grease fitting

    On an old grease fitting, I have seen the spring rust away leaving only the ball. When grease is applied the ball is pushed back and acts as a plug. Probably easier to just change the zerk and be done with it.

    Oldest tractor I have is 1982 Ford 5610. Bought it in fall of 1981. Also have a Ford 5610 II. Made in the 90's. Purchased it in Sept. 2013.
