    before you start throwing money away clean the battery cables on both ends. Take a hydrometer reading of your battery on each cell. Remove the plugs and take a compression check. Then check tappets for the 14thous clearence. Remoe the starter take off the band and look at the brushes and the...

    pull the gov housing and you will probably find teeth missing on the gear that drives the dist. You will also need to turn the engine over to make sure teeth aren't missing on the cam gear

    your block is probably plugged at the bottom of the sleeves as there holes about the size of a nickle coin and they can get plugged from yrs of bad water. Drain the system and fill with vinegar run for a while and drain it just mite fix the problem. If not remove the radiator and lower water...

    Unhook the clevis going to the carb now open the throttle and hold the carb open the clevis should line up with the hole in the linkage you mite need to adjust that clevis.

    The only way water can get into tank would thru the cap unless you have a varmit around who can add the water you have a serious problem if you took cap off then water poured out that means its under pressure so just how can that happen.
