Farmall 340 Engine

I bought a super straight little Farmall 340. Motor was stuck, but the rest of the tractor is so straight I went ahead and bought it. Took the head off and #3 cylinder has had water in it. Sleeve is rusted pretty bad.

I can get the engine rebuild kit for it, but am wondering if there is another tractor or combine or something that might be the same engine to just make a swap. I know very little about IHC. Thanks - Bob

you might want to check out them old ihc swathers from the early 60's as i think they use that engine.... meaning yes i have seen them and they look the same.

Gotta be careful when looking as the 135 had different bell housings.
Some blocks were same as the A&B and others such as the 340 had the H-350 bell housing

If you think 340's are rare, swathers that use the C135 make it look like there was a 340 on every farm in America.

In other words, you're better off overhauling what you have than trying to find a rarer than hen's teeth swather.

WHY not new sleeves and pistons check the crank and you will have an engine that will last for yrs
